NEDA Engagement with LSS3 Generators Strengthens Market Participation

On 11 August 2022, Single Buyer convened an engagement session with Large Scale Solar 3 (LSS3) generators at Le Méridien, Putrajaya, to advance participation under the New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (NEDA) framework.

The session outlined the pathway for LSS3 solar producers to participate in NEDA under the Solar Power Producer (SPP) category, including registration requirements, eligibility parameters and compliance considerations. A live demonstration of the Market Participant Interface (MPI) was conducted, covering data retrieval functions and bidding submission procedures to facilitate transparent and structured market entry.

Five LSS3 generators scheduled for commissioning in 2022 and 2023 participated in the session:
  • Coara Marang Sdn. Bhd.
  • Cypark Suria Merchang Sdn. Bhd.
  • Solarpask Suria Sg. Petani Sdn. Bhd.
  • Kerian Solar Sdn. Bhd.
  • LSS3 Pekan Sdn. Bhd.

Generators are eligible to participate in NEDA upon fulfilment of their respective Maximum Annual Allowable Quantity (MAAQ) obligations under existing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

The engagement strengthened clarity on dispatch participation, bidding protocols and market rules, reinforcing a structured pathway for renewable generators to integrate into competitive mechanisms. Through proactive market activation initiatives, Single Buyer enhances liquidity, transparency and renewable participation within Malaysia’s evolving electricity market framework.
